Storage Unit Size Guide: Frequently Asked Questions
We don’t believe in “One size fits all”. We know that each move or storage situation is different. Here’s what we’ve learned over the last 15 years:
How do I know which size storage unit I need?
Once you’ve reached a stopping point on packing, an easy way to figure out how much space you’ll need is to put all your packed goods together and measure the space they are taking up. Don’t forget that you can stack most things safely.
Average height of a storage unit is 8 feet, so keep that in mind as well when stacking your items.
This should give you a good idea on how much space you’ll need.
What can my business fit into a 10 X 25 foot storage unit?
We are located in a convenient midtown area close to the junction of I-44 and the BA Expressway. All of our units have doors that you can drive up to, with ramps that make loading and unloading easier.
The floors are built up out of the ground, and combined with the insulation in the ceiling, provide dry storage for those items susceptible to moisture.
We are the next best thing to climate controlled, but with larger sizes and less cost.

A few things to keep in mind when your preparing to move your business:
- Be sure to leave a walkway down the center of your storage unit to make quickly accessing items easier
- Cover and protect your furniture and more delicate items. You can find covers specifically designed for most furniture.
- Make sure to leave a little bit of space between your items and the wall of the storage unit for ventilation.
- Make a map for your storage unit: It doesn’t have to look pretty, but even dividing up your storage unit into 4 main quadrants can be a huge help when you’re trying to find a specific item quickly.
See our Size Guide for lots of ideas.
Are there any items that I can't store in my storage unit?
We ask that you don’t store guns, ammunition, drugs or gasoline in the units.
